Welcome to the World Ju Jitsu Training and Development Services

World Ju Jitsu Training and Development Services aims to offer you professional training and the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications in coaching both adults and children.

All NVQ awards offered by World Ju Jitsu T&D Services are approved ad accredited by City and Guilds of London.

The following qualifications are offered:

• Coaching Ju Jitsu NVQ Level 2
• Coaching Karate NVQ Level 2

WHY AN NVQ?

Q. What do the letters NVQ mean?

A. NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification.

Q. OK! But why are NVQs important?

A. NVQs are a nationwide system of qualifications set up by the government across all occupations and professions to provide a more valid and reliable way of measuring competence than traditional exams.

Q. Why are NVQs more valid and reliable?

A. They are more valid and reliable because they measure what the individual actually knows and can do.

Q. How is this done?

A. Assessment is done where the person actually works. A coach is observed actually coaching and an assessment is done when the coach is ready, not necessarily at the end of a course.

Q. Why is it important for me to gain an NVQ?

A. Gaining an NVQ means that YOU have met national standards set by the Sport and Recreation Industry. The national standards are a benchmark of good practice for coaches in all sports and activities.

Q. I already hold a coaching award. Isn’t that enough?

A. Your coaching award is specific to and recognised by your own governing body. The content and quality of courses in various sports may vary and this can cause confusion and differing standards. NVQs have specific standards and performance criteria, so anyone who successfully gains an NVQ can rightly claim that their performance as a coach is up to the National Standard of excellence. This means that it is universally recognised by all involved in the Sport and Recreation Industry.

Q. How long does it take to get an NVQ?

A. There is no limit. It will depend on the training you have done and the experience you have gained already. He minimum time will be around three months.

WHAT NEXT?

1. Enrol for an NVQ.

We can offer NVQs in either Ju-Jitsu or Karate depending on your experience. You would be expected to hold a Black Belt in the chosen Art and have a keen interest in quality, professional coaching.
